Sculpture Paintings
This is a multi layered process where I usually begin with textures like sand, leaves, music scores & lyrics, newspapers, poetry, objects of interest, fabrics etc.
I enjoy opening the canvas to insert boxes or some kind of vessel into which I can place something of significance.
I love the emotions evoked from all the layering of textures, colors and symbolism.
Nothing has to be “contained” within the bounds of the canvas which allows it to become multi dimensional incorporating a desire to
touch it both physically and emotionally.
This is a metaphor for reaching out of our perceived boundaries in life….
digging in, opening up, reaching out.
